The U.S. Congress doesn’t work any more.

Partisan bickering with Democrats spending like crazy and Republicans pushing tax cuts for the wealthy have created a dysfunctional House of Representatives. A recent Rasmussen poll showed it with only a 7% approval rating.  Since the founding of our Country, things have never been this bad except for just before the Civil War.

Tom Tierney intends, if elected, to make Congress work again.

He wants to get into the Republican caucus and bring them some gospel.  To wit, he’ll be telling the powers that be:

   *   We’ve got to dead-stop any more cuts to Social Security.  Solvency can be restored with a slight FICA tax increase, a modest Wage Base extension and stricter disability access.

  *    Obamacare must morph into:  Medicare if you’re 65 or older;  Optionally Electable Medicare if you’re under age 65 [Businesses and Local Governments will lap this up];  and Medicaid for all ages as a low income supplement.

   *   Taxes have got to be restored to the no-deficit/booming-economy levels of the Clinton-Gingrich era.  Most politicians know this; they just hope to lie their way through one more election.

   *     Unemployment must be tackled head-on.  People who need and want a job ought to have one.  Employer subsidies, a Humphry-Hawkins last-resort/low-income approach - - what ever it takes - - must all be considered. If you've been out of work for 2 or more years and have demonstrated an aptitude and a strong desire for work, you should be provided with a job.

I ask for your support.  We need your labor; we need your contributions and most of all we need your vote.  Our cause aims to get America back on track and I hope you'll join with me in making it happen.
